Paddleboard (SUP) Developer

This the six week evening course to take you from having never having been on a board to exploring some of the beautiful North East locations.

We start on our Loch and on week one will get you taking your first paddle strokes and getting you comfortable on the board. Week two we will develop these skills, your confidence and hopefully get you standing on your board. Week three we will be looking at safety and rescue, this will look at how we plan trips as well as how we help each other when we do end up off the board.

Week four we leave the loch and head to Donmouth. Our Donmouth trips are always popular as we travel up under the Brig o’ Balgownie into this beautiful gorge, right in the centre of Aberdeen. We’ll head up towards the bottom of Seaton Park letting you put your newly acquired skills into practice.

Week five and six will be a trip down the River Dee and going out on one of Cove Coastal tours. The order of these will be weather dependant. The Dee trip will be a lovely trip down a section of the river with some small rapids to let you get used to paddling in moving water. The Cove tour will explore the stunning caves and inlets set just beneath the coastal path, giving you an amazing new vantage of these cliffs.

Each week will run for around two hours. You can hire our equipment or come along with your own for £120.

Finding us

From Aberdeen

To find the site you need to approach by South Deeside Road as Park Bridge is shut to vehicles. The turn off is 4 miles beyond the bypass when travelling out from Aberdeen. When you see a red sign saying “Road on the right closed” you need to take this right turn, you will also see a sign for “Durris School” at this junction pointing to the left. Once you’ve turned to the right, follow the road for half a mile until you see a “Granite Adventures” sign on your right and you go through a gate on the track down to our parking.

From Banchory

Pass through Kirkton of Durris then take your next left, there is a red sign in advance saying “Road to the left closed” and this is where you turn. Once you’ve turned, follow the road for half a mile until you see a “Granite Adventures” sign on your right and you go through a gate on the track down to our parking.
